UTSA's Institute of Texan Cultures is the perfect location for parties, meetings, and events for groups of 15 to 4,000+ guests. The museum's one-of-a-kind setting will make your event special! Let us be that special venue.

The museum is located in downtown San Antonio, a short distance from the Alamo and the Riverwalk, in HemisFair Park beneath the Tower of the Americas and adjacent to the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.

What type of events are not allowed at the museum?

  • Personal or private entertaining including weddings and receptions
  • Fundraisers
  • Religious ceremonies
  • Political campaigning

When is the Exhibit Floor and outdoor space available for rental?

Events on the Exhibit Floor are available as follows:

  • 7 a.m.–11 p.m. on Monday
  • 7 a.m.–10 a.m. Tuesday-Sunday
  • 6:30 p.m.–11 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday

When are Meetings Rooms available for rental?

Events in Meeting Rooms are available as follows:

  • 7 a.m.–11 p.m. Monday-Sunday

Is a deposit required?
A $500 deposit is required for Exhibit Floor and outdoor rentals within 60 days of a specific date request.

A $100 deposit is required for all Meeting Room rentals within 60 days of a specific date request.

May I serve alcohol at my event?
Consumption of alcoholic beverages at catered events will be under the auspices of the caterer, who assumes all responsibility for compliance with applicable state laws and regulations. Violations of the law regarding consumption of alcoholic beverages will be reported to the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission.

May I decorate?
Yes, however, all banners, posters, signs, decorations, and other display materials must be approved by the special events team. We regret that confetti, streamers, cascarones (confetti filled eggs) and glitter are strictly prohibited, as is the use of helium-filled balloons on the Exhibit Floor. Candles are allowed with protective holders. NO open flames are permitted.

What are my catering options?
UTSA's Institute of Texan Cultures has an exclusive Approved Catering list from which to select. Caterers are responsible for full catering service including tables, chairs, bar, and cleanup services. View the approved caterer list.
